WHO WE ARE

Key Club is a student-led organization that concentrates building connections within a community whether it be on school grounds or in local areas. Creating a community is one of the top priorities in Key Club as students can learn powerful leadership and communication skills to become a more compassionate individual. Overall, the establishment of Key Club can allow curious students to thrive by participating in events that benefit a community. 

SHSKC'S HISTORY

2008-2009
Licia Dean became President of Sheldon High School Key Club in 2008, and along with that she was introduced to the new District Project, Project C.A.R.E. Sheldon would have tree planting events, and recycling fundraisers as a fundraiser for DCON 2009. She and her board had also tried to start new traditions, one including a Rock Band Tournament. Licia along with her officers ended up being the last of Division 44 South. Sheldon Key Club was no longer frogs, but we became Division 7 South Monsters.

2010-2011
Eyvette Sou became President shortly after, carrying on Sheldon’s legacy in yet another wonderful year! During her term as Sarah’s Vice President, she was able to provide for Sheldon Key Club and it’s 200 plus members, a fantastic year! She led the club with a great smile and rightfully earned the title, “Mama Sou”! With the help of her board members, they were able to help the club bond and become closer as an “Ohana”. Their main projects consisted of raising money for PTP, UNICEF and the Gaucher’s Foundation. With these accomplishments, Sheldon Key Club was able to grow bigger and stronger. Her fellow officers were Kendrick Duong (Vice President), Diana Ngo (Secretary), Kim Fang (Treasurer), Rebecca Tran (Bulletin Editor), Teresa Dinh (Publicity Chair) and Mandy Salgado (Spirit Coordinator).

2012-2013
Jeremy Huynh became the first President of an all-male executive board of Sheldon High School President. This was a first for the club, and it was truly hilarious and interesting to see such a well-oiled machine, to manage such an incredible club. As he finished his past term as the Division Secretary of Division 7 South, he led the club and the members in a monstrous year of fun and service. With the leadership and dedication of Jeremy and his officers, they helped the club soar to new heights. Our membership increased and traditions were kept to satisfaction. He did an amazing job leading Sheldon Key Club and leaving yet another amazing legacy for the next board to lead; it was truly an amazing year. His fellow officers were Abraham Nguyen (Vice President), Brian Tran (Secretary), Hyunsu Jung (Treasurer), Joseph Percoski (Bulletin Editor), Lucila Del Rosario (Publicity Chair), Belle Vang (Spirit Coordinator) and Isabel Jordan (Photo Historian).

2015-2016
Leeza Xiong had become President of Sheldon Key Club yet again to lead another great term for the executive board and also the members of Sheldon Key Club. She was followed by fellow Vice President: Mindy Phan, Secretary: Veng(h) Vong, Treasurer: Justina Voong, Bulletin Editor: Jule Dao, Publicity Chair: Theresa Nguyen, Member Recognition: Zyruss Edjan and Technical Editor: Thomas Le. Together they would yet lead another term building members, leadership, character, caring, and inclusiveness skills. Leeza Xiong successfully fullfilled her position as President and led her club to becoming Fall Rally North Spirit Stick Winners!

2017-2018
Venh Vong had become President of Sheldon Key Club and had led another great term. He was aided by Stephanie Ilaga as Vice President, Elaine Phan as Secretary, Henry Duong as Treasurer, Marcia Cagandahan as Bulletin Editor, Emily Nguyen as Service Coordinator, Sean Nguyen as Member Recognition, Devin Tran as Tech Editor, and Shirley Lin as Social Chair. The officers worked together to fulfill challenging tasks and had bonded with new members.

 

2019-2020
Sammy Quan was elected President of Sheldon Key Club and successfully ran the club alongside Vice President Erika Zheng, Secretary Kevin Josh Salimo, Treasurer Kaylin Xiong, Bulletin Editor Hannah Dao, Service Task Coordinator Kaley Xiong, Member Recognition Chair Jolynn Doan, and Tech Editor Kathy Tri. This year was nicknamed the "golden year" because Division 7 south brought home the spirit stick at Region Training Conference and Fall Rally North. All the officers also worked together to compete their goals and tasks as well as create new bonds with their members.

2022-2023

Azalea Lam is our newly elected President who works alongside with Kristy Le, the Vice President. Secretary Hana Saetern, Treasurer Autumn Si, Bulletin Hayley Vang, Member Recognition Misty Escobar, Service Task Coordinators Joedy Manzanilla and Joshua Davis, Social Chair Lauren Matias, and our Tech Editor Hailie Ros. With this coming new school year, as a group we strive to encourage many people to par take in community service to benefit those in need. 

2009-2010
Sarah Phan became President of Sheldon High School Key Club in 2009; she became the first President of Sheldon Key Club in Division 7 South. During her term, she along with a few other new members established a group called the “Key Club Gangsters”. During the bus ride to Fall Rally North, they established a bond that helped our club grow stronger. She increased membership from 26 to 92 members by the end of the school year. In light of past events, Sarah’s inspiration to create an annual event led her to host Sheldon Key Club’s first ever annual Movie Night! This event has now become a legacy of Sheldon Key Club and has continue to grow as a family.

2011-2012
Rebecca Tran was elected President of Sheldon High School Key Club, and just like all the rest, her Presidency during her senior year was nothing less than incredible! Their term was marked by their hard work, dedication, humor and their desire to serve their community which helped the members have a memorable year. With their dedication and commitment, we were awarded yet again, with the title of Distinguished Club and continued to carry on the amazing legacy left by the past boards of Sheldon High School Key Club. Her fellow officers were Nathan Ramos (Vice President), Lam Duong (Secretary), James Le (Treasurer), Brian Tran (Bulletin Editor), Freyda Tran (Photo Historian), Isabel Jordan(Publicity Chair) and Nathaniel Ford (Spirit Coordinator).

2013-2014
Brian Tran was elected the next President of Sheldon High School Key Club. Along with his board, Laura Kay (Vice President), Misty Lam (Secretary), Nathan Sou (Treasurer), Andrea Delgadillo (Bulletin Editor), Phong Vong (Publicity Chair), Viviane Hoang (Spirit Coordinator) and Christina Weng (Photo Historian), they are now leading the next generation of Key Clubbers. Hoping to leave yet another amazing legacy, and to build the future leaders of Sheldon High School Key Club.

2014-2015
Viviane Hoang had become President of Sheldon High School Key Club for the 2014-2015 year. She was accompanied by her Vice President: Leeza Xiong, Secretary: Mindy Phan, Treasurer: QuynhAnh Dam, and Bulletin Editor Joseph Le. Due to personal reasons, Viviane Hoang had to step down as President. Leeza Xiong then willingly stepped up and took charge as the new President of Sheldon Key Club. Leeza had lead Sheldon Key Club to another amazing year of service leaving yet another great impression in Key Club's immense legacy.

2016-2017
Justina Voong had become the President of the new term and was aided by fellow Vice President: Veng(h) Vong, Treasurer: Jenny Chen, Secretary: Cindy Luu, Member Recognition: Theresa Nguyen, Service Coordinator: Stephanie Ilaga, Bulletin Editor: Tracy Ly, and Tech Editor: Dale Matias. Throughout the year, the officers would accomplish many achievements but the club would not have prospered without the help of the members themselves. The board and members stuck together through thick and thin as Sheldon Key Club oversaw the rise of many new leaders and rich friendships.

 

2018-2019
Elaine Phan had become President of Sheldon Key Club and was followed by Vice Presidents: Cindy Luu and Nancy Le, Secretary: Sammy Quan, Treasurer: Erika Zheng, Bulletin Editor: Velalena Moua, Service Coordinator: QuocViet Dam, Member Recognition: Kelly Le, Tech Editor: Kathy Tri, and Social Chair: Henry Duong. Throughout the term, the officers worked together to accomplish many achievements than before. They fundraised a lot of funds for the club and PTP. Quoc the Service Task Coordinator and his committee created a service project called the Monster March 5K, that raised funds which was 100% donated to the Pediatric Trauma Program. The officers worked together to accomplish their goals but to also make new amazing friendships.

 

2020-2021

Kaley Xiong became president of Sheldon Key Club in addition to vice-president Jack Tran, Secretary Celine Nguyen, Treasurer Jeff Tran, and bulletin editor Jolynn Doan on the executive board. On the appointed board was service task manager Kevin Josh Salimo, member recognition chair Kelly Le, tech editor Kelly Le, and social chair Hannah Dao.
